Norvergence – Evolution of the first-ever animal that does not respire

The scientists at Norvergence showed surprise in discovering that, Henneguya Salminicola is the first parasite that does not respire like all other organisms. The parasite makes use of an anaerobic respiration method to survive in its environment.

Most of the original genome from which the parasite has originated has been lost, yet the origin remains a jelly-fish like structure. The structure left is complex and resembles stinging cells exactly like those of jellyfish.

An evolutionary biologist Dorothee Huchon quoted that these organisms are completely unicellular. The experts at Norvergence have released more details about this fascinating discovery.
